Summer of a Lifetime

Noble Schools’ Summer of a Lifetime program creates awareness, provides funding, and supports hundreds of students from across the Noble network to participate in summer academic enrichment programs at colleges and universities nationwide. This is a transformative pre-college experience impacting Noble students who identify as low-income (84%), students of color (99%), and first-generation-to-college (84%). Many participants are leaving home for the first time and have never flown on an airplane, let alone seen a college campus.

Programs range from two to six weeks and, last year, were spread across 60 colleges in 21 states and Washington DC. Programs vary from general college offerings to career-intensive offerings and offer students college or high school credit, SAT/ACT test preparation, study skills, and college application assistance. All courses are rigorous and are often taught by university professors. Tuition and travel costs have risen significantly, and costs can be a significant barrier for students. However, with the support of donors from across the country, Summer of a Lifetime is in its 26th year of working to close the opportunity and achievement gaps and ultimately to break the cycle of poverty by empowering its students to reach for what the world has to offer beyond their limited view. This summer, Summer of a Lifetime hit a huge milestone by serving its 10,000th student.
