Michael Caldwell is a portfolio manager at Driehaus Capital Management. He manages the Driehaus Life Sciences strategy, a global, long/short product that invests in public and private healthcare equities. He also co-manages the Driehaus Event Driven Fund, a low-correlation, multi-strategy fund that invests across the capital structure.
Mr. Caldwell has been investing in healthcare equities for more than a decade. Through the study of thousands of clinical successes and failures, he and his team designed and implemented the philosophy and process for investing in development-stage biotech used at Driehaus today. He has analyzed, followed, and met with nearly all of the healthcare companies in the Russell 3000.
Prior to joining Driehaus in 2007, Mr. Caldwell worked in a lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Yale University. Mr. Caldwell received a bachelors of science in biomedical engineering from Yale University.
