Chicago Youth Programs
Chicago Youth Programs (CYP) provides long-term, comprehensive programming to at-risk youth that is aimed at improving their health and life opportunities. Our goal for each child is that they escape poverty through higher education and career success. Working with youth ages 3-25 in three of Chicago’s most economically challenged neighborhoods–Near North/Cabrini Green, Washington Park, and Uptown–CYP offers programs in the areas of literacy, tutoring, mentoring, recreation, leadership development, college prep/placement, need based scholarship assistance and free health clinics.
By engaging youth early and retaining them in programming all the way through college, CYP empowers youth to avoid the dangerous pitfalls of the streets and instead, develop their capabilities in order to escape poverty long-term. All CYP programs are free and provide free transportation to and from programs to ensure access.
