Communities In Schools of Chicago
The mission of Communities In Schools of Chicago is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and succeed in life. Our vision is to ensure that each and every Chicago public school student graduates from high school prepared for success.
We connect schools with critical programs and services that support students’ health and social-emotional wellbeing. Working with a network of community partners, we direct services to students based on prioritized needs. In ten schools we place a full-time, Masters-level staff member who also provides one-on-one and group counseling to students at high risk of dropping out. This school year we are partnering with 146 Chicago public schools, helping more than 65,000 students succeed and stay in school.
