Evanston Scholars

Evanston Scholars supports a diverse group of first-generation and low-income students’ access to higher education, degree attainment, and future-proof career opportunities. Since our founding in 2011, our Scholar cohorts have grown to over 5x their original size (from 10 to 56). We now serve over 100 High School Scholars and 180 College Scholars with nearly 200 Alumni who have graduated from college.

Our comprehensive, six-year program offers individualized college counseling, workshops, mentors, test prep, college visits, and more to support students and families with financial and academic needs. Through our staff, mentors, peer relationships, and learning opportunities, we seek to bolster our Scholars’ support system in high school and in college, thus improving their chances of obtaining a college degree. Throughout the program, our career readiness program equips Scholars with resources, knowledge, relationships, and experiences to secure a future-proof job (or graduate school admission) upon college graduation.
