Intrinsic Schools

As of August 2019, Intrinsic Schools serves 1,000 students in grades 7-12 on one campus in the Hermosa neighborhood, and in Fall 2019 will launch a second campus for grades 9-12 in downtown Chicago.

Intrinsic Schools is deeply committed improving education in Chicago. We want school to be a rich, inspiring experience for all students, and to serve as an on-ramp toward a substantive career, income security, and positive choices in all possible areas of life. We aim to achieve outstanding results without entrance criteria, and to do this in strong partnership with families and community, and in collaboration with others – private, public, district and charter. We are also fully committed that our model is achievable and sustainable on public dollars, and easily replicable by others – in Chicago and beyond.
