Intrinsic Schools
Intrinsic Schools operates two open-enrollment, tuition-free public charter high schools in Chicago serving approximately 1800 students. The mission of Intrinsic Schools is to advance long-term educational and economic mobility by grounding students in EPIC values and preparing them for informed career paths through rigorous preparation, personalized learning, and deep family partnership.
During the 2026–27 school year, Intrinsic will launch a 50-student 9th-grade “Lab” School to reimagine high school for a changing world. As AI reshapes knowledge, work, and civic life, future graduates will need sharp judgment, cross-cultural collaboration, and AI fluency far more than traditional information recall. Rather than running a standard pilot, educators in the Lab School will rethink the daily academic experience from the ground up – reimagining schedule structures, teaching roles, and technology integration to create a coherent, future-proof model of learning.
