Math Circles of Chicago

Math Circles of Chicago (MC2) creates meaningful and fun experiences that enable students and educators to develop their mathematical powers and build a sense of belonging to choose their own mathematical pathway. MC2 runs math circles at six Hubs around the city, along with over 40 After School Programs. Other core programming includes 40 annual math festivals, summer math camps in seven locations, an annual math research symposium called QED, and a College Pathways program that gives high school students the opportunity to teach, engage in research, and earn scholarships.

MC2 served over 5,500 students in the 2024-2025 school year, making it by far the largest math circle program in the United States. It was named the Excellent Emerging Organization of 2020 by the Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management. MC2 serves children in 3rd to 12th grades, and all programming is free to lower income students.
