Waukegan to College
Founded in 2009, Waukegan to College is a nonprofit dedicated to making the dream of attending college a reality for Waukegan students, most of whom are first-generation. The organization takes a holistic approach, serving the entire student and actively engaging their families in the journey. Partnering with students from elementary school through college graduation and beyond, Waukegan to College provides academic preparation, mentorship, and vital resources to help each student succeed personally, academically, and professionally.
Waukegan to College provides wraparound support, including tutoring, mentoring, college visits, family advising, scholarships, career exploration, and other enrichment opportunities. The organization focuses on academic success and personal development, emphasizing well-being and leadership so students can succeed personally, academically, and professionally. Since its founding, the organization has celebrated 113 total college graduates, and in Fall 2025 will serve approximately 340 students as it works toward the goal of reaching 1000 students by 2030.
