
Ghiané Jones serves as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer of the Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) of the State of Illinois. Founded in 1939 by the Illinois General Assembly, TRS is one of the largest public pension systems in the United States, providing retirement benefits to over 457,000 members and managing assets exceeding $74 billion. Based in Chicago, Ms. Jones manages TRS’s newly established office in the city where she oversees the investments department.
Before joining TRS, she served as a Managing Principal and Investment Consultant at Meketa Investment Group in Chicago, where she advised a diverse array of defined benefit and health & welfare funds, with Taft-Hartley, nonprofit, and public plan sponsors. During her tenure, she was an active member of Meketa’s Diversity Leadership, Emerging & Diverse Manager, Endowment & Foundation, and Executive Committees. Her prior experience includes roles at Invesco, Northern Trust Asset Management, and Goldman Sachs.
Ms. Jones holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hamilton College.
