Alexander Klabin is Managing Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Senator Investment Group, a New York-based registered investment adviser founded in 2008. Senator manages private investment funds that pursue credit and equity investments in both public and private securities. The firm manages more than $3.5 billion in assets on behalf of pension funds, endowments, foundations, families and other institutional investors.
Prior to co-founding Senator in 2008, Mr. Klabin spent five years at York Capital Management, a global multi-strategy investment firm. At York, Mr. Klabin focused on private equity, value equity, distressed debt and special situation investments. Prior to joining York, Mr. Klabin was a distressed debt research analyst at Monarch Alternative Capital and also worked as a private equity professional at Quadrangle Group, a private investment firm focused on media and communications companies. Mr. Klabin began his career as an investment banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions department at Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Mr. Klabin and his wife Kristen are active in a range of philanthropic and community activities, both individually and through The Senator Foundation. Mr. Klabin received a B.A. in English Literature from Princeton University.
