Mr. Arthur Kaz is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of Greenbriar Asset Management, LP (“Greenbriar”) an SEC registered Hedge Fund based in Chicago. Greenbriar focuses on opportunistic investing throughout the capital structure with an emphasis on stressed/distressed credit, event-driven, and special situations.
Mr. Kaz has over 20 years of professional experience with active involvement in credit and distressed situations since 2001 and in alternative asset management since 2006. Notable investments in which he took a leadership role include the restructuring of several major automotive parts suppliers, a leading mortgage originator, and the reorganization of a major airline.
Prior to founding Greenbriar, Mr. Kaz was a Portfolio Manager at Pentwater Capital Management and before that a Managing Director at Solus Alternative Asset Management in New York City. The foundation of his expertise in event-driven credit was developed as a Director at Zolfo Cooper, a boutique consulting firm that advises on large-scale, complex reorganizations.
Mr. Kaz holds an MBA from the University of Chicago with concentrations in Finance and Policy and a BA in Mathematics, cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Knox College, where he also sits on the Investment Committee for the college endowment.
