David Heller is the co-Founder and a Portfolio Manager at Cloud Gate Capital, a fundamental long/short equity firm largely focused on US market opportunities. Launched in October 2012, the strategy takes a theme-based approach to target less crowded investment opportunities and has an explicit emphasis on generating alpha in the short portfolio. In addition, the strategic relationship with the Bluhm family office provides access to the information flow from a substantial set of privately held businesses, particularly in the areas of real estate and gaming.
Prior to co-founding Cloud Gate, Mr. Heller spent ten years working at Delaware Street Capital, a long/short equity and distressed debt fund. Before joining Delaware, David was a Mergers & Acquisitions analyst with Merrill Lynch and an Investment Banking analyst with Banc of America Securities. David earned a B.S. with honors from the University of Illinois.
