Doug Silverman is Managing Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Senator Investment Group. Senator manages approximately $2.5 billion in assets with a focus on distressed, value, event, and special situation investments in credit and equity. Prior to founding Senator in February 2008, Mr. Silverman spent six years at York Capital Management where he was most recently a Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager of York Global Value Partners. Prior to joining York, Mr. Silverman was an investment banker in the Leveraged Finance department at Merrill, Lynch & Co. Mr. Silverman is a Director of Aventine Renewable Energy Holdings, Inc., a leading US ethanol company that emerged from bankruptcy in 2010. Mr. Silverman is active in a wide range of philanthropic and community activities, both individually and through The Senator Foundation. Mr. Silverman received a B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Princeton University.
