John co-founded Egerton in 1994. He is the Chief Investment Officer and portfolio manager for the firm’s equity long/ short and equity long-only strategies. Prior to co-founding Egerton, John worked at Morgan Grenfell Asset Management, where he began his career in 1981, and became a director in 1991. He managed the Morgan Grenfell European Growth Trust from its launch in April 1988 until March 1994; it was the top ranked European mutual fund over this period. John graduated from Cambridge University in 1981 with a degree in Modern History.
