John T. Lykouretzos is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Hoplite Capital Management, L.P. Founded in 2003, Hoplite is a global, opportunistic equity long/short fund focused on delivering attractive absolute returns through deep fundamental research and individual security selection. Hoplite manages approximately $2.8bn on behalf of its clients which include public pension plans, corporate pension plans, endowments, foundations, private banks, family offices, Sovereign Wealth Funds, fund of funds and insurance companies. Headquartered in New York City, Hoplite currently has 41 employees including 13 investment professionals.
Prior to founding Hoplite, John spent three years as an analyst and portfolio manager at Viking Global Investors. He joined Viking from Tiger Management where he worked as an industrials analyst. John began his career at Goldman Sachs, initially in the Investment Banking Division and subsequently in the Principal Investment Area.
John graduated cum laude from Yale University with a B.A. in Economics and International Studies. John currently serves on the board of the Yale Football Alumni Organization and remains an active Yale Alumnus.
John and his wife reside in Bronxville, New York, with their three children. Outside of Hoplite, John is involved in several philanthropic initiatives. He is currently the Co-Chair of the Tiger Foundation, and serves on the boards of iMentor and the American Museum of Natural History.
